About Us

Dr. Holly Ruocco

When I was 15 years old I experienced the worse pain in my life to this date.  I was living in Hawaii for the summer with my uncle when all of a sudden I had the most horrific pain down both legs.  After 1 week in agony, my uncle carried me up a flight of stairs into a Chiropractors office.  The pain was gone as suddenly as it had started.  However, at 15 years old I knew I never wanted to feel that pain again so I found a chiropractor in my town upon returning home.  Under care I was able to live my life without the use of asthma and pain medications for painful cramps and I, to this day have never experienced that pain again.  That day changed my life…so much so that I wanted to help people in the same way.

I am a 1995 Graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa.  After school I started my own practice in Glendale AZ.  In June of 1999, I moved home to the community I had grown up in and have been practicing in Salem, NH ever since.  I have cared for infants and elderly and have a passion for teaching and help people reach their maximum potential through natural, non invasive means.  In the summer of 2008, I became the first in the New England area to offer a breakthrough technology that helped remove stressors from the nervous system using micro-frequencies.  This technology helps treat symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities.  I decided it would be an incredible technology to bring to New England.  October 2008 we opened our doors at Advanced Allergy Centers.  It has proven to be amazing as we are helping people with symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities when everything has failed. Daily, I am amazed and pleased to hear the incredible success stories. In January 2017 I stepped out of the box and again was the first practitioner to bring the Cutting Edge MLS Laser Therapy to New Hampshire Advanced Pain Relief Centers. In March 2018, I joined with Ashlynn Moerloos, a patient who had received her life back through the technologies we have here, to bring Nutrition By Design to the community. In November 2018 we began offering ECPR to the Health Center. I am a single mother of a beautiful daughter named Sarah and we live in Chester NH. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends in the White Mountain of beautiful NH. I enjoy being creative, building terrariums, jewelry making, seaglass hunting, painting and speaking to groups of people who are dedicated to improving their lives using natural, alternative methods. https://www.facebook.com/Holly-A-Ruocco-Art-1824295051138223/

Lea Kwong joined our team in May of 2017. She comes with much experience and a genuine heart for helping people be better, feel better and do better. Lea and her husband relocated to Derry NH to start their family. They were living what most people would call a lifetime dream. They spent a few year on the island of St. Thomas staring in their own Fixer Upper Show. They would buy properties and rehab them into beautiful homes for people. While on the island of St Thomas Lea worked as a chiropractic assistant performing laser treatments. They returned to New England and welcome their adorable son Nicholas in 2016.

Prior to their adventure in the tropical Islands of St. Thomas, Lea worked as an EMT along side her husband. She was also an EMT teacher/instructor. She used all her skills with teaching as she also holds a health Coach Fitness Certificate and a Bachelors in Middle School education.

Her enthusiasm is infectious and her energy is so positive and up-lifting. We are thrilled to have her on our team. I am sure once you met her you will feel the same. She makes others just feel better.

My name is Cherie Burton (Pronounced “Cherry”, out of respect for my mother’s wishes)
I was a single mom from the time my son and daughter were 9 and 5 years old. My children are now grown and married and blessing me with grandchildren who call me “Granny”. I’m recently married (Sept. 2017) to a great guy who’s been my best friend for 14 years. We’re looking forward to the many next chapters in life together.
My glass is half-full when not overflowing and my heartfelt prayer is for health and wellbeing for all of my friends and family. I believe that God commissions each of us to care for one another using the gifts and talents He has blessed us with.
I’m also employed at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA, where I’m an observation aide caring for Alzheimer, Dementia, and any other patients that need to be accompanied by someone to keep them safe/healthy.
My work here at Chiropractic First is an expansion on my desire to help people feel better. To that end, I’m now a certified MLS Laser Tech.
The testimonials and observing first hand the benefits of this near miraculous technology have captured my heart for caring for those in pain. I’m excited to be part of this dynamic team of healers. After all, God said, “Let there be Light…and it was good.”

My name is Dawn Caruthers and I am thrilled to be part of the team here with Dr. Holly.

I was born and reared in NJ and at the sweet age of 21 married an active duty military man. During this marriage we had 4 beautiful children. We traveled all over the United States and without a doubt my most favorite part of the country is…South Dakota…but New England comes in at a close 2nd.

During that season of my life I found my self in the labor and delivery room of a lot of my military friends…Husbands going away for 6 months at a time and babies cannot be put on hold…I was profoundly blessed and moved to be a part of this life giving moment and the transition of another addition to the family. I found my self studying to be a doula (childbirth coach) and have worked in that area for more than 20 years…

God has brought many changes and opportunities in my life…I have also been a public speaker, I had my own radio show. If I had to define my life with a word it would be wholeness….I believe God has designed the human heart to be whole…and we seek people out in our lives that help us to find that wholeness. And I believe that I am here with Dr. Holly and this amazing staff as a continuation of that process. Dr. Holly, Lynn, Bailey, Bianca, Lea, Cherie we all make up your team of healers….

While I am certified as a MLS Laser Tech…my primary job is to make you feel welcomed and valued…To keep the staff on point and moving in an orderly fashion. I am so blessed to be a part of this “family” and to meet each and everyone of you…to be a part of your journey towards wholeness.

My name is Bianca Mancini and I am a registered nurse. I always knew from a young age I wanted a career that involved helping others. I went from wanting to be a teacher, a veterinarian, and then I finally found my passion, nursing. Not only is the science behind nursing fascinating, but the job is endlessly rewarding. There is nothing I love more about my job than seeing people get well, it gives me purpose. I have worked in inpatient rehabilitation nursing for over two years now. Being in this area of nursing has made me want to get into helping people naturally before they get to the point of being so ill that hospitalization is required. Holistic medicine has grown immensely over the years and i could not think of a better place to work at to further my nursing career and focus on getting more patients well. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you towards better health.

My name is Bailey Dodge I’m 20 years old and I have been suffering from chronic knee pain for about 7 years. When I was 13 years old I tore my ACL in a middle school basketball game. That resulted in my first surgery in 8th grade. After surgery and 8 months of physical therapy I was cleared to play sports again. My freshman year in field hockey, even with wearing huge brace, I re-injured that same knee. The pain was excruciating and I could barely walk. I would cry trying to walk from class to class. My knee would dislocate very easily which resulted in another surgery. I was on my road to recovery when a I was involved in a really bad car accident which damaged my knee even more. I had really given up all hope at that point with getting my knee better and my life back. My mom saw a facebook ad about the MLS laser and decided to take me into Dr. Holly’s office to give it a shot. What did I have to lose? I was shocked by the results and was amazed that it helped me as much as it did, even after the first visit. MLS gave me hope and gave me my life back. When I found out that Dr. Holly was looking for a new laser tech to help deliver this care to people who were suffering just like me I handed her my resume without hesitation. I didn’t have any experience with this type of care BUT I have the experience of knowing pain and being hopeless. Now I can help Dr. Holly help others and give them HOPE again. I love being able to share my story with everybody. I love seeing results in people with MLS laser therapy.

Since being treated with the MLS I have been able to travel. I spent a summer in Australia and have gone on many trips with friends and family that I might other wise have not gone on because my pain was depilating. I am still young and have no idea where life with take me but as for now I enjoy working as a team in this office. I look forward to working with you and helping you get your life back.

Nutrition By Design was developed in 2018 by Dr. Holly Ruocco and Ashlynn Moerloos. This program was developed with a vision that inspires to help those suffering with various medical ailments that have been left untreated/answered through conventional practices. Through comprehensive lab analysis and the use of Science Based Nutrition™ protocols, Nutrition By Design provides delicate insight into what’s holding you back from leading a life of optimal health. Science Based Nutrition™ generates reports and identifies potential and current health complications, highlighting nutritional supplementation, dietary and lifestyle recommendations designed by Ashlynn. The main mission of the program is to allow our patients to live a life of optimal health!

Ashlynn’s passion for nutrition stems from being an athlete and struggling with an Eating Disorder for several years. Battling with mental illness in combination with diet and nutrition misconceptions, a powerful drive established a desire to self-heal and share her gift of healing with others.

Ashlynn completed a 6-month Dietetic Internship as a Senior in high school at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. During her internship she was exposed to Clinical Nutrition Practices. She was able to develop knowledge on special diets, along with nutritional and medical terminology used in clinical settings. Ashlynn preformed education and counseling to patients with the help of Dietitians. She also had the opportunity to complete an in-depth study on Crohn’s Disease.

After high school, she pursued undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire, receiving a B.S. in Nutrition. During her tenure at UNH, Ashlynn learned about perspectives in nutrition, health and well-bring. Her course work focus included sports psychology; the importance of nutrition in exercise and sports; lifecycle nutrition; nutrition with children with special needs; stress management techniques; treatment of adult obesity and nutrition; along with community nutrition practices.

Following UNH, Ashlynn decided to enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. This accelerated 11-month program focused on the ideas of Primary (spirituality, career, physical activity and relationships) and Secondary (nutrition) Foods. She was introduced to the concept of bio-individuality, with the idea that one person’s food is another person’s poison. She also had the opportunity to study 100-different dietary theories as well. Her studies also incorporated different lifestyle management techniques, along with innovative coaching methods. Ashlynn acquired extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching and preventative health from the world’s top health and wellness experts; Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Katz, Dr. Walter Willett, Geneen Roth, etc.

Ashlynn spent almost four years working for the Cooking Matters™ NH Program. During her time working with Cooking Matters™, she was given the opportunity to travel the state putting on nutrition and culinary education courses for those at risk of hunger; sharing her nutrition expertise, health coaching skills and love for cooking with members of our community that were in need. Throughout this experience, Ashlynn touched and changed hundreds of lives in the NH community.

Nutrition By Design is known to be Ashlynn’s most exciting career opportunity. The idea behind this program is to utilize the Science Based Nutrition™ platform to allow New England Integrative Health Centers to be the leading health professionals in the NH community. Our community members have the opportunity to take control of their health by using proactive, preventative approaches. In depth EKG, blood work, hair, urine and stool assessments are offered to our patients and customized reports are generated, unveiling potential and current health conditions. These reports administer supplemental nutritional protocols, along with diet and lifestyle recommendations designed by Ashlynn. This program allows our patients to prevent, maintain or alleviate any potential, unknown and current health complications.

This work is extremely personal to Ashlynn, given her life-long struggles with health complications. She truly understands the frustrations of unanswered health conditions after countless physician visits. Through her educational and professional experiences, she has been able to gain a grasp on her health and is excited to serve as your advocate, giving the gift of health back to you through alternative, holistic and naturopathic remedies.

Ashlynn is currently undergoing graduate studies at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, the nation’s leading university in integrative health. She is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health with a concentration in Herbal Medicine.
